Der aus dem Amerikanischen ins Holländische und dann ins Deutsche übersetzte BPDSI-IV ist ein semistrukturiertes, klinisches Interviewverfahren, welches spezifische BPS-Symptome der letzten drei Monate erfasst. Er erfasst in seiner 70-Itemfassung analog zu den DSM-IV-Kriterien die neun Symptombereiche (1) Verlassen werden, (2) Zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen, (3) Identität, (4) Impulsivität, (5) Parasuizidales Verhalten, (6) Affektive Instabilität, (7) Gefühl der Leere, (8) Wutausbrüche und (9) Dissoziation und paranoide Vorstellungen. Reliabilität: Die interne Konsistenz liegt über Alpha = .90 (Gesamtscore) bzw. zwischen Alpha = .49 und .89 (Skalen). Iteminterkorrelationen der Gesamtgruppe fallen höher aus mit r = .33 bis .73 als die der BPS-Patienten (r = .22-.52). Validität: Es konnten hohe Korrelationen mit ähnlichen Instrumenten (MSI-BPD, SKID-II) und einzelnen Skalen von verschiedenen Selbstbeurteilungsverfahren (z. B. BDI, BSI, FDS), Unterschiede zwischen den erreichten Mittelwerten (BPS Achse-I-Störung ohne Störung) sowie die Veränderungssensitivität nachgewiesen werden. Die Eindimensionalität des Verfahrens konnte nicht bestätigt werden. Berechnungen der Skaleninterkorrelation fielen heterogen aus. Die deutschsprachige Kurzfassung der Depressions-Angst-Stress-Skalen (DASS) wird in der Schmerzforschung und -behandlung verwendet und wurde entwickelt, um psychologische Kernaspekte von Depression, Angst und Stress zu erfassen. Sie umfasst drei Skalen mit jeweils sieben Items. Die Erfassung psychischer Belastung hat einen zentralen Stellenwert in der Schmerzforschung und -behandlung. Für Depression als Komorbidität bei Schmerz bestehen dabei besondere methodische und konzeptionelle Schwierigkeiten. Reliabilität: Cronbachs Alpha lag bei Alpha = .91 (Depression), Alpha = .78-.82 (Angst) bzw. Alpha = .81-.89 (Stress). Validität: Konstruktvalidität des DASS wurden mit HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) und ADS (Allgemeine Depressionsskala) verglichen. They worked in collaboration with researchers at the Regenstrief Institute at Indiana University and with the support of an educational grant from Pfizer Inc. During the development of PRIME-MD, Drs. Spitzer, Williams and Kroenke, created the PHQ and GAD-7 screeners. The PHQ-SADS consists of the following parts of the PHQ: the depression scale (or the PHQ-9), the somatic symptom scale (or the PHQ-15), the questions about anxiety (part 3 in the original PHQ) and a question about overall daily functioning (part 11 in the original PHQ).
