Die deutschsprachige Kurzfassung der Depressions-Angst-Stress-Skalen (DASS) wird in der Schmerzforschung und -behandlung verwendet und wurde entwickelt, um psychologische Kernaspekte von Depression, Angst und Stress zu erfassen. Sie umfasst drei Skalen mit jeweils sieben Items. Die Erfassung psychischer Belastung hat einen zentralen Stellenwert in der Schmerzforschung und -behandlung. Für Depression als Komorbidität bei Schmerz bestehen dabei besondere methodische und konzeptionelle Schwierigkeiten. Reliabilität: Cronbachs Alpha lag bei Alpha = .91 (Depression), Alpha = .78-.82 (Angst) bzw. Alpha = .81-.89 (Stress). Validität: Konstruktvalidität des DASS wurden mit HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) und ADS (Allgemeine Depressionsskala) verglichen. They worked in collaboration with researchers at the Regenstrief Institute at Indiana University and with the support of an educational grant from Pfizer Inc. During the development of PRIME-MD, Drs. Spitzer, Williams and Kroenke, created the PHQ and GAD-7 screeners. The PHQ-SADS consists of the following parts of the PHQ: the depression scale (or the PHQ-9), the somatic symptom scale (or the PHQ-15), the questions about anxiety (part 3 in the original PHQ) and a question about overall daily functioning (part 11 in the original PHQ).
