Description
Principal Investigator: Patrick Ellinor, MD, PhD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, USA MeSH: Atrial Fibrillation https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/gap/cgi-bin/study.cgi?study_id=phs001024 The Atrial Fibrillation Genetics Consortium (AFGen) was organized to identify common and rare genetic variation associated with atrial fibrillation risk. In the current study, we have performed whole genome sequencing in cases with early-onset atrial fibrillation. Samples in this study were enrolled as a part of the Partners HealthCare Biobank. Cases with early-onset atrial fibrillation were identified from the Biobank (defined as atrial fibrillation onset prior to 61 years and in the absence of structural heart disease).

Eligibility Criteria
- StudyEvent: SEV1
- Eligibility Criteria
- The subject consent data table contains subject IDs, consent group information, subject aliases, and affection status for early-onset atrial fibrillation (AF).
- This subject sample mapping data table includes a mapping of study subject IDs to sample IDs. Samples are the final preps submitted for genotyping, sequencing, and/or expression data. For example, if one patient (subject ID) gave one sample, and that sample was processed differently to generate 2 sequencing runs, there would be two rows, both using the same subject ID, but having 2 unique sample IDs.
- This sample attributes table includes body site where sample was collected, analyte type, tumor status, sequencing center, funding source, TOPMed phase, project, and study name.
- This subject phenotype data table includes atrial fibrillation (AF) status, age at AF diagnosis, sex, race, ethnicity and subject's height and weight. The variables collected at enrollment are hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, and myocardial infarction status. The ECG measurements include PR, QRS, and QT intervals, and the ventricular rate.
