Description
Principal Investigator: Esteban Burchard, MD, MPH, University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA MeSH: Lung Diseases https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/gap/cgi-bin/study.cgi?study_id=phs001180 A case-control pharmacogenetic study of bronchodilator drug response among racially admixed Latino children with asthma. Each participant had two spirometry measurements using the KoKo PFT System. With the first spirometry test, participant was administered with 4 puffs of HFA Albuterol. The second albuterol measurement was based on age, for participants under 16 years of age, additional 2 puffs were administered and for those over 16 years of age, additional 4 puffs were administered. The overall goal is to identify genetic factors which are predictive of drug response in children with asthma. The principal tools include a questionnaire and biological specimen collection. Participants are 8-21 years old at time of recruitment. Children with asthma have physician-diagnosed asthma, symptoms and medications. The GALAII Study is utilized in the following dbGaP substudies. Eligibility Criteria
- StudyEvent: SEV1
- Eligibility Criteria
- This subject consent data table includes subjects IDs, consent information, and subject aliases.
- This pedigree data table contains family relationships in the format of family IDs, subject IDs, father IDs, mother IDs, subject's sex, and twin IDs for monozygotic twins.
- This subject sample mapping data table includes a mapping of study subject IDs to sample IDs, both of which are T1DGC Analytic IDs. Samples are the final preps submitted for genotyping, sequencing, and/or expression data. For example, if one patient (subject ID) gave one sample, and that sample was processed differently to generate 2 sequencing runs, there would be two rows, both using the same subject ID, but having 2 unique sample IDs. The data table also includes sample source and substudy (phs) accession that the sample belongs to.
- This subject phenotype data table includes subject's age, sex, ethnicity, BMI, affection status, smoking status, asthma that required hospitalization, steroid used to control asthma, bronchodilator response, NO2 and PM25 air pollution measurements.
- This sample attributes data table includes body site where sample was collected, analyte type, tumor status, and genotyping center.
