Is the patients body mass index below 20.5 kg/m^2?
Weightloss during the last 3 months?
Reduced nutritional intake in the previous week?
Do the patient have an increased stress metabolism related to relevant disease (trauma, intensive care patient).
Nutritional status (≈ degree of weakening).
Severity of disease (≈ increased needs).
Is the patients age 70 or more.
The total score is a combination of nutritional status, disease severity and age.
